Meet the Artist: Nadia Fairlamb Brings Color to Our Walls

Walk into either Treehouse location and you'll notice it pretty quickly — the walls aren't just walls. They're color, movement, and story, courtesy of the local artists we partner with. A fantastic artist feature just concluded with some special pieces; that spotlight belongs to Nadia Fairlamb.

Nadia is a Hawaiʻi-based mixed-media sculptor and painter whose work explores the essence of place through wood, color, light, and form. She draws on prehistoric art, cultural design patterns, and Hawaiian ocean life for inspiration — which is exactly why her pieces feel like they've always belonged on our walls. She's also an artist-entrepreneur in her own right, author of The Way of the Highly Paid Artist: A Business Manual for the Struggling Creative to Succeed Without Giving Up, a book that pushes fellow creatives to think as seriously about their business as they do about their craft.

Why we do this

Treehouse Coworking is more than just a coworking community; it's a welcoming space for Hawaiʻi's small businesses and entrepreneurs — artists included. Giving their work a wall is one of the most direct ways we can support inter-island art.

We partner with artists across the islands to display their work in our Kailua and Kahala locations. It's a real exchange, not just a favor: artists get their work in front of a room full of founders, consultants, and creatives who might buy, commission, or simply spread the word — and artists earn a commission when a piece sells. In exchange, our spaces get to be something more than four walls and good Wi-Fi.

Professional, not corporate.

We've always wanted Treehouse to feel like a place you actually want to work from — not a beige box with motivational posters. Real, original art does that in a way nothing else can. It makes a room feel considered and warm without losing the focus a workday needs. Members tell us it's one of the first things they notice, and one of the reasons the space feels calming and productive.

It's a small thing that adds up to something bigger: a more beautiful, more relaxing, more focused place to work — and one more way we get to say thank you to the community that built Treehouse in the first place.

Are you a local artist?

If you're a Hawaiʻi-based artist looking for a new place to exhibit — and be seen by exactly the kind of people who might become collectors, clients, or collaborators — we'd love to hear from you.
